When a group of American cardiac surgeons from California’s Central Valley team up with colleagues in Russia’s remote Far East in the city of Vladivostok, unexpected friendships form. The Medical Relief Foundation has worked in Russia’s most remote city for five years, bringing technical expertise in bypass and valve surgery and state-of-the-art technology to an eager and developing region.
