In preparation for the midsummer festival on the longest day of the year, a traditional Swedish custom for young women is to craft a flowered wreath from local wildflowers. The celebration of life, fruitfulness and vitality comes alive with the brilliantly colored blossoms. To focus on the flowers and the model’s eyes, I chose to crop in tight in a horizontal which matches her direct gaze and invites the viewer’s’ response.
